Research and Development
Innovation is the key: in a sector where it takes years to select new varieties, it is essential to be able to grasp the market needs and move ahead.
A careful research activity conducted all over the world and the solid collaboration with international universities and research centers allows us to exclusively select the best seeds in terms of germination and resistance to diseases, climatic conditions and various stress factors.
Seeds with latest generation genetics, newly conceived seeds (Lateral Spread Technology), selection of varieties with low environmental impact (A-List), innovative coatings with active substances and biostimulants (Biocure), automated production systems to improve and speed up cleaning and mixing: in Sefobi the rule is to look beyond, always with the utmost respect for nature.
Production & selection
We are a breeder of two varieties of alfalfa registered in the National Register of Varieties and we multiply our seeds only through a supply chain directly controlled by us and only and exclusively in Italy to guarantee the best quality.
The alfalfa production process involves field sowing on approximately 2.500 hectares of land. Once collected, the seed is taken to our factory in Ferrara, where an initial cleaning takes place. At the San Martino di Lupari headquarters the product is then carefully cleaned through various steps and verified by our internal laboratory, to then be further checked and certified from CREA.
Blending
From pure seeds ai mixtures for each intended use. Mixing is like creating a perfectly balanced recipe, in which each ingredient responds effectively to specific aesthetic and aesthetic needs performance.
Our blends are designed to offer the right solution in different professional contexts: from the production of sod lawns to the creation of sports fields or gardens, from the grassing of vineyards, coasts and hills to products for hydroseeding.
We also make customized formulas with tailor-made percentages, in short times and with maximum precision.

We pack our seeds in paper bags. We do this for two reasons: to give value to a completely natural product and to abandon the use of plastic as much as possible.
Be “More than seeds” for us it means not limiting ourselves to the seed, but offering the gardening professional everything he may need, from nutrition products to those for hydroseeding. Consultancy a strong and healthy lawn comes from adequate technical support, able to suggest the most suitable product in all circumstances.
All shipments of our goods are carried out using our own vehicles or couriers: in both cases we are able to deliver in a few days throughout Italy.
