Controlled nitrogen release technology CRF of Fenix Fertilizers exploits a special polymer coating based on vegetable oils, organic and biodegradable, which coats the urea granule and encapsulates the mineral nutritional elements within it, avoiding their dispersion through evaporation or leaching. Furthermore, this special membrane protects the roots and leaf blades of the lawn from chemical burns.
In less than a week after application, in contact with soil humidity, the nutrients contained within the granule begin to dissolve by osmosis. The release process is triggered solely by soil temperature and is not influenced by other factors such as rainfall, irrigation or soil pH.
The controlled release over time is guaranteed by this coating which avoids the breaking of the granule and the immediate release of the nitrogen.
After the complete release of nutrients, the polymer coating naturally dissolves into the soil.
Starting from January 2026, a European regulation will ban the sale and use of chemical polymers, the new technology CRF is already ready to face this important turning point to protect the environment. CRF in fact it uses natural and biodegradable vegetable oils to coat the urea granule, fully respecting the soil and the microorganisms present in it.
